Dear AMSPC Member:

The 2006 Annual Meeting of AMSPC will be held at the Hilton El Conquistador in Tucson Arizona Friday January 27 to Sunday January 29. Gary has been working hard on the detailed program, and will distribute this shortly.

Please note that in accordance with our decision last year, the Registration fee is now all inclusive, and includes the cost of the hotel rooms as well as the receptions, the Saturday night barbecue, and all the other meeting costs, including taxes and service charges. For this reason the registration will vary with the number of nights you plan to stay. As usual the hotel will extend the same rate for several days both before and after the meeting. Unfortunately, the State of Arizona has decided to increase the tax on hotel rooms to 13.5% effective January 1 2006, which has increased the cost somewhat.

Sheilah and I visited the hotel several weeks ago, and made the final arrangements for the meeting rooms and the special functions. The hotel is magnificent and the facilities are outstanding! I know you are going to enjoy your stay. There are very good restaurants in the hotel, and Tucson offers many many more. The El Conquistador has a world class golf course, tennis, swimming pools, and a Spa. You can preview the facilities at the hotel's web-site.

Sheilah Jewart of Amazing Occasions will be responsible for most of the arrangements and that you should send your completed registration materials to her in the enclosed envelope. Please note that Sheilah cannot take credit cards. Please do not make reservations directly with the hotel. If you really need to use a credit card (e.g., for Canadians without US$ accounts), contact me and we may be able to work something out. Because we experienced delays sending out the registration materials, the early registration deadline has been extended until December 15. But please mail or fax your registration as soon as possible, even if the check has to be sent later.
