Navigating change, strengthening departments, and shaping the future of pharmacology
It is my pleasure to invite you to the AMSPC Annual Meeting, a conference dedicated to the challenges facing academic leaders in pharmacology. We welcome department chairs of pharmacology units within schools of medicine, pharmacy, veterinary medicine, dentistry, and public health.
As in previous AMSPC meetings, the conversations with colleagues at meals and social events are often as important as the programming in the conference room, and you'll have plenty of time for both. Alongside scientific presentations, panel discussions, and updates from ASPET, there will be many chances to learn how chairs can support one another as we lead our faculty, trainees, and departments.
If you've attended before, you know the value of learning from your colleagues' leadership strategies. If you've never attended, you're overdue, and we're ready to help. I hope you'll join us in January for a stimulating meeting in this historic setting.

How to register
- Log in to your AMSPC member account and register by November 15.
- Book your hotel in our group block (link below) by November 15.
- Adding a social guest or tour? Register yourself first, then email manager@amspc.org and we'll send an updated invoice. Guests and tours can be added any time before the registration deadline, but tours can sell out before then, so please sign up early to save your spot.
Hotel: Hacienda del Sol Guest Ranch Resort
Nestled in the foothills of the Santa Catalina Mountains, Hacienda del Sol began as a school nearly a century ago. Today its rooms and suites blend Old World charm and Southwestern décor with modern comfort.
$289/night single or double, plus tax. Bellman and housekeeping gratuities are included.

Getting here
- Fly into Tucson (TUS), about 15 miles (20–30 minutes) from the resort.
- Airport transfers aren't included. Taxis are easy to find, or use Uber/Lyft, a rental car, or a private transfer such as Viator. Parking at the resort is free.
Cancellation policy. Refunds, less a $150 fee, are available through November 15; no refunds after that. Substitutions are always welcome. To cancel, email Karen Gottlieb.
